Cheese Garlic Okra-Easy One-Pan dish
You just saute the okra in a frying pan with olive oil, garlic, season with some salt, pepper, and then top with shredded cheese. Be sure to cover the skillet with its lid so the heat traps inside it would melt the cheese. Done. You can serve it as a side dish, or serve it with rice or bread.
Cheese Garlic Okra-Useful Tips
- You can also try this recipe with other veggies such as long beans or asparagus.
- Wash and dry the okra pods thoroughly and then cut them lengthwise. Do not cut them into separate pieces.
- Be sure not to overcook your veggies and keep checking on them.
- Use whatever cheese available, preferably a nice mild melting cheese.

Cheese Garlic Okra Recipe
Easy Cheese Garlic Okra in 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 6 okra pods Ladys Fingers, washed & dried
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic thinly sliced
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 40 g cheese shredded (or 2 slices)
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes optional
Instructions
- Wash and dry the okra pods thoroughly and then cut them lengthwise.
- Start cooking your garlic and oil in a cold pan. Turn on the heat and wait a minute, the garlic will start to release its flavor into the oil.
- Add okra and toss with a spatula to combine well with the garlic. Sprinkle a pinch of salt. Cover with a lid and cook for about one minute.
- Remove the lid and stir-fry another minute.
- Top with the cheese. Cover and cook until the cheese melts (about 1 minute).
- Sprinkle chili flakes on it, if desired.
- Serve immediately.
