Easy to make homemade Ginger Ale (Soft Ginger Beer) recipe with a video.
Ginger ale is a non-alcoholic and refreshing drink made of fresh ginger and carbonated water. It’s one of the easiest sodas you can make at home with little effort.
Most commercially available ginger ales are loaded with refined sugars, preservatives, and colorants. The sad part is most of the commercially available ginger ales don’t contain even real ginger extract. They contain ginger flavoring instead.
When you are making ginger ale yourself at home, you make it with real fresh ginger extract. You can control how sweet it is. So it’s good for your health. You can also make many other beverages, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic, with the ginger syrup we make today.
How to Make Ginger Ale
Yes, as the name implies, the main ingredient is ginger. When making homemade ginger ale, we use real fresh ginger. You will also need some sugar, honey, fresh lemon or lime juice, club soda, or sparkling water.
First, you make ginger syrup using fresh ginger, sugar, honey & lemon juice. You can mix ¼ of ginger syrup and ¾ cup of club soda to make ginger ale. Then add ice cubes. Feel free to adjust the amount to suit your taste.
The great part about this recipe is its flexibility. You can switch up the ratios depending on what you’re in the mood for. The syrup will be kept for a week in the fridge. You can just add soda and enjoy your homemade ginger ale any time you want.
