Sri Lankan Iced Coffee (Healthy Version With Milk)! In this post, I will show you how to make a healthy version of Sri Lankan Iced Coffee. Fresh milk mixed with coffee and aromatic spices yields a very refreshing coffee drink. A perfect drink for those hot summer days and all year round.
Sri Lankan Iced Coffee
(Healthy Version With Milk)
The classic version of Sri Lankan Iced Coffee is sweet, spicy, creamy, and rich in flavor. It is made with a lot of sweetened condensed milk along with coffee, cardamom, cloves, sugar, vanilla, and brandy.
Sweetened condensed milk is dense in calories and has a huge amount of sugar and saturated fat. The key to enjoying condensed milk as a part of a healthy diet is consuming it in small portions.
With that in mind, you can make a healthier version of it with fresh milk. I usually make this fresh milk version when I want a refreshing cool coffee drink.
I like to add a spoonful of sweetened condensed milk to give it a rich creamy flavor. I don’t add any sugar as the sweetness that comes from condensed milk is enough for me.
It will allow you to control the sweetness of the coffee drink making it much healthier. Adding a dash of brandy and vanilla is optional.
